‘Festival of Arts and Academics Showcases LKSD Student Art’ by Sara Jung

Each Spring the Lower Kuskokwim School District hosts the annual Festival of Arts and Academics show in Bethel AK. Students from preschool through 12th grade are welcome to join.

This year LKSD hosted the event in the upstairs foyer of the Suurvik Cinema, where hundreds of art pieces were displayed.  This is a great opportunity to show off students’ talents in several art mediums, but students can also showcase their talents in academics. We had several pieces that incorporated writing with their art, or students used math skills to complete an art piece.
